Landscape by Jean (Hans) Egger presents trunks and branches in a vertical composition. Yellows and ochres dominate, crossed by reds, greens and blues. A pale sky occupies the upper part of the image, while plant forms mingle with curved, restless brushstrokes.
Coloured strokes intersect and break up the space. The movement of the brush gives the landscape its energy, with contrasts between pale areas and denser passages. This printed reproduction can add a colourful accent to a living room or study; compare the available sizes and materials to suit your wall.
Jean Egger, also known as Hans Egger, was an Austrian painter born in 1897 who died in 1934. Trained at the Munich Academy, he lived mainly in Paris from 1925 and painted portraits and landscapes among other subjects.
