About Young Woman Standing in Traditional Neapolitan Dress
Held by The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York as object 66.53.2, this drawing by Giovanni Battista Lusieri measures 37.5 × 28.2 cm. It is watercolor over graphite.
A full-length costume study
Against an almost bare ground, the young woman stands with one hand at her waist. Her red dress, blue skirt, patterned-edged green apron, dark veil and jewelry are rendered precisely, while a long shadow anchors the figure in space.
Giovanni Battista Lusieri and The Met
Giovanni Battista, known as Titta, Lusieri was an Italian artist born in Rome in 1754 who died in Athens in 1821. The Met acquired this sheet in 1966 through the Rogers Fund.

Our frames measure 1.7 cm on each side. For a 40x60 cm painting, the total framed size is therefore 43.4 x 63.4 cm.
Canvas 100% polyester (285 g/m²), UV-resistant and solvent-free inks, safe for children and allergy sufferers. The canvases are mounted on a 2 cm thick wooden frame (4 cm for very large formats).
