Where the right of withdrawal applies, contact us within 14 days of delivery. Return shipping is paid by the customer and the item must be sent to the European address provided by our customer service team. Damaged, defective or incorrect items are handled at our expense.

Aquileia, a travel poster from around 1928

Franz Lenhart (1898–1994) designed this poster for ENIT, Italy’s national tourism organisation. Printed as a chromolithograph by Richter & C. in Naples, it celebrates Aquileia in Friuli-Venezia Giulia through an imagined medieval stained-glass window.

The basilica, harbour and golden cross

A hand raises a cross set with coloured stones before the bell tower of the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta. A boat evokes Aquileia’s harbour, while the Friulian eagle and the Capitoline wolf occupy the shields in the upper corners.

A composition glowing like stained glass

Heavy black outlines assemble reds, oranges, blues and whites into luminous panels. The monumental “Aquileia” lettering, Lenhart’s signature and the emblems of ENIT and the Italian State Railways complete this late-1920s travel poster.
