The Grand Tour is a poster published in 2016 by NASA/JPL-Caltech as part of the contemporary Visions of the Future series. The series was developed by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory creative team known as The Studio, and this illustration is credited to Invisible Creature. It is therefore neither a vintage poster nor a work dating from 2017.
The image imagines a future space regatta retracing Voyager 2’s historic route past Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. That flight path used each planet’s gravity to send the spacecraft towards the next destination. JPL explains that a suitable alignment of the outer planets occurs roughly once every 175 years. Several white spacecraft cross overlapping planetary discs, red and purple rings, and long horizontal lines in green, orange and turquoise. The slogans “A once in a lifetime getaway,” “Experience the charm of gravity assists” and “Now boarding” turn real orbital mechanics into an imagined travel advertisement.

Provide a complete postal address and a reachable phone number. Delivery to a PO box or pickup point depends on the country, size and carrier.
Our frames measure 1.7 cm on each side. For a 40x60 cm painting, the total framed size is therefore 43.4 x 63.4 cm.
Canvas 100% polyester (285 g/m²), UV-resistant and solvent-free inks, safe for children and allergy sufferers. The canvases are mounted on a 2 cm thick wooden frame (4 cm for very large formats).
