The Retreat of Napoleon’s Army from Russia in 1812 is a history painting completed by Ary Scheffer in 1826. This oil on canvas, measuring 127.6 × 162.6 cm, is held by the Yale University Art Gallery.

The work depicts the Berezina episode and the suffering of the Grande Armée during the retreat. General Ney appears on horseback at the centre, trying to guide the soldiers, while a woman supports a dying man in a pose recalling a Pietà. Bodies in the snow, exhausted troops, horses and a dark sky create a scene focused on the human disaster.
