Created by A. L. McLaren for Canada’s Fifth Victory Loan campaign, How About You? Buy Victory Bonds dates from October–November 1943. The lithographic poster encouraged the public to help finance the war effort during the Second World War.
A frontal portrait of a Canadian airman fills most of the design. His dark blue uniform and white scarf stand against a radiant yellow background. The handwritten question “How about YOU?” directs attention to the sitter, while “Buy Victory Bonds” appears below in large red letters. The archival record is held by Library and Archives Canada.
