Anton Ritter von Schmerling – Friedrich von Amerling
Anton Ritter von Schmerling is portrayed seated and turned three-quarters toward the viewer. His white beard, dark coat and diagonal sash stand out against a brown interior. He holds an open book, while papers rest on the table to his left.
The Belvedere in Vienna attributes this portrait to Friedrich von Amerling. Painted in 1878 in oil on canvas, it measures 134 × 107.5 cm and has inventory number 111. The museum titles it Anton Ritter von Schmerling (1805–1893), President of the Austrian Imperial Council.
The Imperial and Royal Ministry of Culture and Education commissioned the painting from the artist in 1875. The catalogue record states that it was painted in Vienna. The work is not currently on display.

Canvas 100% polyester (285 g/m²), UV-resistant and solvent-free inks, safe for children and allergy sufferers. The canvases are mounted on a 2 cm thick wooden frame (4 cm for very large formats).
