About The Rider
The Rider, catalogued as Jeździec by the National Museum in Warsaw, is an oil painting on canvas made by Juliusz Kossak in 1864. It measures 74.5 × 62.8 cm, bears inventory number MP 1919 MNW, and is signed and dated at lower right.
A man on horseback
A moustached man in a dark cap and jacket rides a white horse. Seen in profile, he turns his face towards the viewer and holds the reins while one of the horse’s forelegs is raised.
Wooded landscape and cloudy sky
The pale horse stands out against a landscape crossed by water. A dense group of dark trees closes the scene on the right, while slender trees and a brighter distance open it on the left. The museum title means a mounted rider or horseman, not a knight or bachelor.

Provide a complete postal address and a reachable phone number. Delivery to a PO box or pickup point depends on the country, size and carrier.
Our frames measure 1.7 cm on each side. For a 40x60 cm painting, the total framed size is therefore 43.4 x 63.4 cm.
Canvas 100% polyester (285 g/m²), UV-resistant and solvent-free inks, safe for children and allergy sufferers. The canvases are mounted on a 2 cm thick wooden frame (4 cm for very large formats).
