Henri Lebasque, master of the Fauvist movement, transports us to a world of tranquility with his work "Houses on the Port at the Island of Yeu". This art print, dating from 1919, captures with rare sensitivity the serene beauty of the port where colorful houses are reflected in the shimmering water. In this period of artistic renewal, Lebasque stands out for his ability to blend emotion with technique, infusing his landscapes with a softness that deeply moves the viewer.
The artistic context of this work is marked by a quest to return to the roots after the upheavals of the avant-gardes.
